Alaska has the longest coastline in the Nation, spanning the Pacific and Arctic Oceans, the Gulf of Alaska, and the Bering, Chukchi, and Beaufort Seas.

Its 10,690 km (6,640 mi) coastline stretches along the Beaufort and Chukchi Seas (both marginal seas of the Arctic Ocean), the Bering Strait and the Bering Sea, and the Gulf of Alaska, an arm of the Pacific Ocean.

Alaska is expansive and diverse, with close to 34,000 miles of shoreline - more than the rest of the U.S. combined. The ocean is an integral part of Alaska’s aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems, weather, economy, history and culture. There are 11 coastal national parks, preserves, monuments and national historical parks.
