Human remains found in an SUV that struck a pipeline and caused a fire in Deer Park has led to a criminal probe.

A fire that erupted from a Texas natural gas pipeline that was struck by a vehicle died down and was extinguished Thursday, the city of Deer Park said.

The city of Deer Park later confirmed that a white sport utility vehicle had driven through a fence on the west side of Wal-Mart’s parking lot located at 9025 Spencer Hwy. The vehicle entered the adjacent pipeline right-of-way and struck an above-ground pipeline valve.
