It's the first time that Marshall and the Golden Eagles have met in football since 2018 and the Thundering Herd is searching for its first win in Hattiesburg since 2014 after dropping the last three in the series.

The last three weeks have been tumultuous for the Golden Eagles. Ex-head coach Will Hall was fired after a 44-28 home loss to Arkansas State. Assistant Head Coach/General Manager Reed Stringer was appointed interim head coach and guided the Golden Eagles during a 32-15 loss at James Madison on October 26. Southern Miss was off last week.

"During the bye week we will make a decision on what way we go," head coach Charles Huff said before a long layoff between games. "It could be continue to use both (Braylon Braxton and Stone Earle) if that's the best thing to help the team win.
