Anyone can install the new public beta, but you'll need an iPhone 15 Pro or a new iPhone 16 model to run Apple Intelligence.

Even if you don’t buy an iPhone 16, you can install iOS 18, which is out today, and start customizing your home screen in new ways, text high-res videos to your Android friends, and store your passwords in Apple’s slick new password manager. But as for all those AI features you may have heard so much about, those aren’t ready—at least, not yet.

Now you can get a glimpse of Apple Intelligence, but as always keep your wits about what you're getting into with beta software.

You can download iOS 18.1 on any iPhone that supports iOS 18 (full list below), but unfortunately, Apple Intelligence is exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max and the entire iPhone 16 series. You can still get your hands on other non-AI features though.
