In an August executive order, Gov. Glenn Youngkin stated that Virginia’s Department of Elections had removed over 6,300 noncitizens from the state’s voter rolls in over 2.5 years. A recent independent audit of voter data seems to align with those numbers.

Virginia’s 45-day early voting period starts Friday, which is one of the longest in the country. Senator Aaron Rouse is chairman of the committee that oversees voting laws in Virginia, and he says Democrats will continue to reject Republican efforts to roll back early voting.

The 2024 presidential election is just 49 days away but voters in Virginia can begin casting their ballots this week.

County clerks in West Virginia will beginning to mail absentee ballots on Friday, marking the official start of the 2024 General Election.
