The Nigerian Communications Commission on Thursday announced plans to harness the 6GHz spectrum to enhance internet speed and connectivity in the country. The initiative was unveiled at a Stakeholders’ Consultative Forum on Emerging Technologies in Lagos to address the growing demand for high-speed internet services.

Internet service provider Spectrum announced changes Monday including increased minimum speeds and guaranteed pricing for three years with bundled services. The changes also include a pledge to address service disruptions quickly, dispatching a technician the same day if requested by a customer before 5 p.m.

The company announced that Spectrum’s internet plans will now begin at $30 a month for 500 Mbps (instead of $50) when bundled and current customers will also have their speeds automatically increased for free to 400 and 600 Mbps.
