The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra has recently received the One UI 6.1.1 update, but it turns out this software has a major camera zoom bug.

Samsung released the One UI 6.1.1 update for the Galaxy S23 in the second week of September with new Galaxy AI features. Users soon reported a bug on the Galaxy S23 Ultra causing ghosting in pictures at zoom levels 16x-19.9x.

One UI 6.1.1 only finally started rolling out to waves of users in the US recently, however, Samsung has paused upgrades for the Galaxy S23 Ultra as the new update is causing issues with the camera.

After promising to add new Galaxy AI features to older Galaxy phones earlier this month, Samsung is now rolling out One UI 6.1.1 to several countries and devices.

As reiterated by Tarun Vats on X, the Galaxy S23 Ultra's camera is suffering because of the One UI 6.1.1 update. According to their findings, photos are experiencing blurry photos and strange ghost shadows. This occurrence doesn't always happen, as it was noted that users are encountering this with the 16x and 19.9x zooms.

Tipster ICE UNIVERSE (@UniverseIce) claims in an X post that the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra may launch with an upgraded ultrawide camera, which could have a 50-megapixel 0.7um ISOCELL JN3 sensor. For reference, the existing Galaxy S24 Ultra has a 12-megapixel ultrawide shooter.

Samsung has started rolling out One UI 6.1.1 for its 2022 flagships in its home market, and the update should reach other regions in the coming weeks.
