The mountain lion that showed up in the backyard of a Frisco, Texas, resident has taken the internet by storm.

A mountain lion was caught on a resident's security camera Friday in north Plano, third sighting in North Texas in last three weeks.

The mountain lion was spotted in the backyard of a house in western Frisco on Nov. 1, Texas Wildlife Department said.

For the first time in years, the State of Texas confirmed the sighting of a mountain lion in North Texas. Video was taken last week in a Frisco backyard that showed a mountain lion on the prowl. The City of Plano said in a Facebook post that biologists with the TPWD confirmed security camera footage of a mountain lion in Plano on Friday, November 8. Before that, TPWD confirmed mountain lion sightings in Lake Dallas on October 27 and Frisco on November 1.

Brent Blackwell said he saw the mountain lion on his camera Friday and reported it to the Department of Parks and Wildlife.
