Singer and actress Andra Day is joining the Season 2 cast of "Percy Jackson" on Disney+. She will play Greek goddess Athena in the series -- and Annabeth's mother.

Oscar-nominated actor Andra Day has been tapped to play Athena, the Greek Goddess of Wisdom and Annabeth’s mom, in the upcoming second season of Disney+’s Percy Jackson and the Olympians. The casting was reveiled at D23 in Brazil with a video of Day in character posted across the show’s social media accounts.

Oscar-nominated Andra Day will play Athena in Season 2 of Disney+'s Percy Jackson and the Olympians. Joining returning cast members, she will portray the mother of Annabeth Chase.
