Zoo was ok. Several areas under construction, we were able to see most of the animals. Polar bears were great. Gift shop was nice. Full review by Adventure791005

Uneven terrain& gravel pathways would suggest that it is inappropriate for disabled access .

Not sure this is an accessible venue. Gravel paths, steps, etc... I would recommend calling ahead. I don’t recall seeing carts for rent.

Hi Ann, According to Google maps Sunset Dr. is about 10.5 miles from the Zoo. The Zoo has a free shuttle bus that runs during the summer months from 4th Ave. to the Zoo. 4th Avenue is in the heart of downtown Anchorage and only 1.5 miles from Sunset Dr. If you are not visiting during the summer months a rental car or a taxi are your best options as the Zoo is not near a bus stop / rout.
